New to BPO? Common questions

Do BPO companies hire fresh graduates or undergraduates?

Many do. Entry-level customer service roles often accept senior high school graduates and college undergraduates, especially on non-technical accounts. Clear English communication usually matters more than your course. Check each job post for its exact requirements.

What do I need to apply?

Usually an updated resume and a valid ID for the interview. Once you get a job offer, companies typically ask for pre-employment requirements such as an NBI clearance, your SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG and TIN numbers, and a medical exam. Preparing these early helps you start sooner.

What is the difference between voice and non-voice jobs?

Voice jobs handle phone calls with customers. Non-voice jobs handle chat, email, back-office or data work. Non-voice is a good way in if you are still building confidence speaking English on calls.

What is a healthcare account?

Healthcare accounts support clients such as US health insurers, hospitals and clinics: answering member questions, checking insurance benefits, scheduling patients, or processing medical claims and billing. Some roles prefer a nursing or allied health background, but many companies train non-medical hires. Use the “Healthcare” filter above to see companies with healthcare work.

Will I have to work the night shift?

Many BPO jobs serve clients in the US, so night or graveyard shifts are common. Accounts for Australian, UK, Asian or local clients often run day or mid shifts. Ask about the schedule during your interview.

How do I choose which company to apply to?

Start with companies near you to cut your commute, then narrow down by type of work and shift. Open a company’s profile to see its office address, services and map before your interview.

How do I avoid job scams?

Apply only through a company’s official careers page or its official employer page on job sites, like the buttons on this page. Legitimate companies don’t ask you to pay to apply, train or get hired. Be careful with recruiters who only use personal email or chat accounts, or who ask for money or bank details before an offer.
